Sheridan is a neighborhood school located on the East Side of St. Paul.  The dedicated and conscientious staff recognizes the richness within the student diversity and strongly believes that all students have different learning experiences and strengths to be developed.

Special Features:

  • Sheridan has two sections of all-day kindergarten.

  • Renaissance Learning Systems are used to assess and manage student learning in reading and in supplemental math practice.

  • A school wide Title I program supports all learners.

  • The Project for Academic Excellence provides teachers with additional job-embedded training in the most current, research-based teaching methods in reading, writing, math and science.

  • Sheridan has teaching specialists in Music, Physical Education, ELL, Special Education and Band.

  • Additional challenging, learning opportunities are offered to students through the instructional delivery models and organizational structures that require differentiation.

  • Students have scheduled and immediate access to the PC Computer Lab with Internet access, and to computers in every classroom.

  • Bilingual staff members in English/Hmong and English/Spanish are readily available.

  • Parents participate in the PTA and serve on the Site Council.

  • Students in grades 4 and 6 participate in the offsite week-long Starbase Learning Program each year.

  • Students are offered the Northern Clay residency each year.
