Prosperity Heights School is a small, close-knit, culturally diverse neighborhood school that ensures personal attention for every student. We provide children with a top quality, individualized education in a safe and respectful environment. Most apparent at Prosperity is the focus on maximizing each child's abilities with an array of choices for all types of learners.
The school's English Language Learner staff works closely with classroom teachers on Readers and Writers Workshops, programs designed to enhance a student's literacy skills. Trained tutors reinforce student learning and provide services to students needing additional help.
Technology is available to enhance learning in all subjects. The school has a computer lab, a mobile lab, and computers in each of the class rooms as well as the library. The building is wireless and in 2008-2009 the school will begin to have interactive boards in the classroom to better engage students, increase student access to the real world, and make learning more relevant.
Because the school is located near home, families feel comfortable participating in their children's education through the Parent/Teacher/Guardian Group, Site Council, volunteering, attending parent/teacher conferences, and other school wide activities. The school also has a Parent Resource Room to help parents assist their children with homework.
