    Battle Creek Middle School  7-8   --  Battle Creek Middle School (BCMS) teachers all use the Institute for Learning's innovative teaching methods to make their classrooms both academically rigorous and engaging. The average class size of 21 allows for individual attention to student needs.  College-prep, challenge level courses are available in all areas of study including Algebra and Geometry classes.

    We are the only Minnesota public school to require both uniforms and single-sex classes in all math, English, science, and social studies classes.

    Capitol Hill Gifted and Talented Magnet Middle  1-8   --  Capitol Hill Magnet School is a full time gifted program for students in grades 1-8.  Learners experience a challenging academic program designed to develop content expertise, the skills and methods of disciplinarians, as well as complex, critical and creative thinking. The Capitol Hill program fosters student self understanding, and scholarliness in a climate of respect, high expectations, civic responsibility and cultural understanding.
    Cleveland School - Aerospace Program  7-8   --  Cleveland School provides a small school atmosphere with big school opportunities.  Cleveland is part of the Achievement Plus initiative, a public-private partnership that raises student achievement by focusing on three major efforts: academics, extended learning, and learning supports for students and families. Beginning in fall 2008, Cleveland will be home to the district's only junior-high-level aerospace program, a continuation of the popular and successful aerospace program at Farnsworth Elementary.
    Crosswinds International Baccalaureate  6-10   --  Crosswinds East Metro Arts and Science School is a year-round secondary school serving students from St. Paul and 9 surrounding suburban member districts. It is the only school in the State of Minnesota to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, years 1 (6th grade) – 5 (10th grade), housed in one building.
    Hazel Park Middle School  7-8   --  Hazel Park Middle School Academy builds on traditional values to prepare seventh and eighth grade students for the future. The academy philosophy represents academic excellence in a safe and challenging learning environment. In addition to core classes such as English, Social studies, Math and Science, students are able to explore many other programs through quater-long electives. Hazel Park Middle School Academy offers pre-Advanced Placement classes in addition to challenge level courses in both English and Social studies. The school offers advanced high school credit classes such as Algebra and Geometry.
    Highland Park Junior High School  7-8   --  Highland Park Junior High implements core subject teaming that consists of four teachers (math, science, English and social studies) who share a group of students for the entire year.  A rigorous academic program is offered across all academic levels, with an emphasis on developing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    Humboldt Junior High School  7-8   --  Humboldt Jr. High offers a small learning community where personal connections benefit junior high students both academically and socially. Students have many opportunities to explore their interests and enhance their learning. Humboldt Jr. High students and staff are respectful and committed to continuous high academic achievement.
    Murray Junior High School  7-8   --  Murray Junior High School offers a full range of academically challenging coursework with a focus on math and science in a structured, safe and positive learning environment. Challenge level English and social studies prepare students for college preparatory coursework in high school including International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), Quest, Post-Secondary Enrollment Options and other accelerated programs.

    Open School  K-12   --  Open School's progressive programs are rooted in  the tenets of open and constructivist education and self-directed learning. The district's only K-12 school, Open's academic program is designed for self-motivated and independent learners who want a family-like environment.
    Ramsey Junior High School  7-8   --  Ramsey Junior High offers a challenging, comprehensive academic program. The school's Gifted and Talented specialty offers advanced math, science, social studies and English courses and prepares motivated students to enter a high school International Baccalaureate, Quest, Advanced Placement or other accelerated program.
    Washington Middle School  7-8   --  Washington Technology Magnet Middle School students use technology as a tool for learning in all subjects. Washington has 300 computers for students to learn in every subject area. The Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM) program offers challenging opportunities for all students and independent research projects for highly motivated students.
