Humboldt Jr. High offers a small learning community where personal connections benefit junior high students both academically and socially. Students have many opportunities to explore their interests and enhance their learning. Humboldt Jr. High students and staff are respectful and committed to continuous high academic achievement.

Special Features:

  • We feature a challenging Montessori junior high option that focuses on independent learning and group projects. Small group work encourages differentiation and increased academic rigor.

  • AVID (Advanced Placement Via Individual Determination), a program to help middle-achieving students with accelerated course work. AVID is an in-school, academic support program for grades 4-12 that prepares students for college eligibility and success.

  • Pre-Advanced Placement classes in Math, English, and Social Studies.

  • Our collaboration with Humboldt Sr. High provides opportunity for advanced placement, elective options and athletics.

  • Small-class environments allow for individualized instruction.

  • Our music program includes an electronic piano lab, which allows students to learn piano at their own pace. Band, choir and drumline are also offered. Each trimester ends with a piano recital, drumline/band concert along with choir performances.

  • Monthly celebrations reward students who meet behavior, attendance and academic expectations.
