Highland Park Junior High implements core subject teaming that consists of four teachers (math, science, English and social studies) who share a group of students for the entire year.  A rigorous academic program is offered across all academic levels, with an emphasis on developing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Highland Park’s interdisciplinary teams create a strong sense of belonging for students and provide support to help them make a smooth transition from elementary to junior high school.

Challenge-level courses are available in the core subjects of English, science, math and social studies. These courses prepare students for accelerated  programs in high school.

In addition to offering Chinese, Spanish, American Sign Language and French Highland Park also has a wide array of electives from which to choose.  These include creative writing, journalism, art, sewing and cooking, computer, band and choir.
