Hazel Park Middle School Academy builds on traditional values to prepare seventh and eighth grade students for the future. The academy philosophy represents academic excellence in a safe and challenging learning environment.

In addition to core classes such as English, Social studies, Math and Science, students are able to explore many other programs through quater-long electives.

Hazel Park Middle School Academy offers pre-Advanced Placement classes in addition to challenge level courses in both English and Social studies. The school offers advanced high school credit classes such as Algebra and Geometry.

Special Features:

  • Students are required to wear school uniforms and their class schedules include six classes per day (four core subjects and two rotating electives per quarter). In addition, students who need additional challenges receive gifted services education and after-school tutoring is available to all students.

  • Elective classes are offered in each of the following areas:  band/music, literature, world languages/cultures, visual arts, performing arts, technology, family and consumer science, and physical education/health.
