Chelsea Heights Elementary School, nestled in the northwest corner of the city, believes all children can learn and achieve success. The school's curriculum incorporates experiences that build students' skills in critical thinking, problem solving, questioning strategies, reasoning, creative expression and imagination.

School staff, parents and families help prepare students for the challenge of becoming competent individuals and contributing members of society with a strong basic education. The focus is reading, writing and math.
 
Special Features:

  • The school is organized in three levels:  All day Kindergarten, Primary with grades 1,2,and 3, and Intermediate with grades 4, 5, and 6.

  • The school has an active business partnership with Short, Elliot and Hendrickson, an architectural firm. They provide classes for Chelsea Heights students and printing for school articles.

  • Several music, educational and multicultural events are sponsored each year to include all families.

  • A strong PTO and Site Council are present to give parent input to the school.

  • The facility is shared with Northwest Como Park & Recreation, with a common Peace Garden between the facilities.

  • Student activities include band, orchestra, community projects, field trips, ALC after-school classes and many Community Education classes.

  • The school has specialists in Science, Physical Education, Music, ELL,
    Band, Orchestra, Gifted/Talented Education, and Special Education.
