Adams Spanish Immersion is a K-6 elementary school that educates Spanish dominant, English dominant, and bilingual speakers. Adams challenges students by using language-centered, immersion instruction in all subject areas.

Cleveland's aerospace focus captures children’s interest in space and aviation to help them learn in all subject areas, including science, math, technology, history, geography and reading. The range of lessons involving aerospace spans all grade levels and student abilities. The Aerospace magnet is located at two campuses, Aerospace at Cleveland serves grades 5-8 while Aerospace at Farnsworth serves grades preK-4.

The American Indian Magnet School builds an active community of learners through a focus on core values including respect, gratitude, humility, cooperation and environmental responsibility. Teachers work together to use the best educational methods to help all students achieve and perform at high levels.

Ames Elementary is a neighborhood school in an historical building on the East Side of Saint Paul with grounds that include a community garden and a pergola used as an environmental learning center. Ames reading, mathematics, science, music and art instruction programs prepare students, pre-K through sixth grade, to be independent thinkers who live and contribute to a global society. 

The wooded hills, trails and wetlands of Battle Creek Regional Park provide a unique opportunity for the K-6th grade students of Battle Creek Environmental Magnet to learn firsthand about Minnesota’s many natural resources. As the first school of its kind in the state, Battle Creek Environmental Magnet has developed a rigorous, standards-based curriculum emphasizing hands-on learning with a focus on environmental science topics. The peaceful forest and groomed trails of the park are used by students for a variety of learning activities ranging from pond studies to cross-country skiing.

At Benjamin E. Mays International Magnet School, your child's "future begins with us!"  We are proud to be an authorized International Baccalaureate/Primary Years Programme, which recognizes us as a "World School" that develops international-minded students who are inquirers, knowledgeable, and caring.  The IB/PYP also strives to help students to become sensitive to the points of view of people around the world. 

Bridge View is a special education school for children and young adults, ages 5-21, who display a variety of developmental disabilities. Student needs are supported through use of adapted equipment and assistive technology focusing on communication needs and choice making.

Bruce F. Vento Elementary School is a “Gateway to Learning.” Closely connected to the East Side, the students, staff and parents are proud of their school and their commitment to excellence. Students from all nationalities and cultures are welcomed -- creating an exciting and richly diverse student population that proudly reflects the children and families of the East Side.

Capitol Hill Magnet School is a full-time academically gifted and talented program for students in grades 1-8. Students experience a challenging academic program designed to develop skills in critical and creative thinking. Acceleration (fast-paced learning) combined with complex content allow for in-depth study.

Chelsea Heights Elementary School, nestled in the northwest corner of the city, believes all children can learn and achieve success.  The school’s curriculum incorporates experiences that build students’ skills in critical thinking, problem solving, questioning strategies, reasoning, creative expression and imagination.

Cherokee Heights Elementary enriches each student and embraces the many cultures of St. Paul. Students are nurtured and challenged intellectually, emotionally and physically in our Pre K-6 program. By engaging students in a challenging curriculum that includes high expectations, students develop a greater sense of purpose and are nurtured in the diverse experiences that will enrich them for life.

Como Park Elementary School meets students where they are and takes them to the next level. With small classes and high expectations, Como Park Elementary challenges students to go beyond the standards.  The school focuses on academics designed to develop lifelong learners and critical thinkers -- students ready to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Crossroads Montessori features an individualized approach to education.  Students learn how to become self-directed learners and independent thinkers. Precisely designed Montessori materials help students learn and lead to deeper understandings of concepts in all subject areas. Multi-age classrooms promote collaboration and a family-like atmosphere.

Crossroads students are engaged in an “inquiry” approach to learning concepts through hands-on investigations.  Students take part in choosing how they best learn content.  Across disciplines, students are encouraged to ask questions, build investigations and demonstrate learning to peers.

Dayton’s Bluff Achievement Plus Elementary School is an award-winning, diverse, neighborhood school located on Saint Paul’s East Side. The academic program at Dayton’s Bluff is based on the Project for Academic Excellence Design Model, which holds all staff to high standards and expects all students to meet or exceed the academic standards for their grade level.

Eastern Heights Elementary is located on the East Side of Saint Paul. As we say in our mission statement, “We have high academic and social expectations for students, staff, and families. Together we will become lifelong learners and productive citizens.”  Staff members support individual students’ needs by using themes to teach concepts across subject areas.

EXPO Magnet School engages students in an active and rigorous curriculum to prepare them for the 21st century.  Through language, science, arts, life skills, and community learning projects, we provide each learner with child-centered educational opportunities in a multi-age environment.

Four Seasons A+ Elementary was Saint Paul’s first year-round school. The school’s academic program is based on the A+ Model, in which teachers teach and students learn by using arts-integrated instruction. This approach uses creative, hands-on experiences in music, dance, drama and visual arts to help students connect the arts to other subjects and to allow them to demonstrate what they are learning in multiple ways.

Franklin Music Magnet Elementary offers all students the opportunity to explore and experience music in addition to providing a strong academic environment. About 90 percent of the students at Franklin take music lessons during the school day on instruments provided by the school.

Frost Lake Magnet School of Technology and Global Studies' curriculum focus is the integration of technology and global studies across the curriculum with a long term educational plan that prepares students to live and contribute in today's globally interdependent world.

At Galtier Magnet School the academic program focuses on developing excellent mathematicians and scientists skilled in using technology as a key learning tool. Students learn critical-thinking skills through hands-on learning activities.

Groveland is best known for its high student achievement, quality teaching, strong sense of community, volunteer involvement and commitment to all students. Groveland’s students consistently score above the district average in yearly assessments, and approximately 75 percent of the school’s teachers hold master’s-level degrees or higher.

Hancock/Hamline University Collaborative Magnet School believes the path to college begins in kindergarten. Each grade level, paired with a different Hamline University department, ensures elementary students a variety of university experiences. In addition, Hancock students benefit from help provided by Hand-in Hand mentors, America Reads and America Counts tutors, student teachers, and guest speakers.

Harambee Community Cultures/Environmental Science School is a year-round magnet school serving students in kindergarten through 5th grade. All Harambee classrooms are team-taught, multiage environments in which we work hard to create a unique, exciting, and effective learning experience for our students.

Located on the East Side of Saint Paul, Hayden Heights Elementary School brings together the best of a neighborhood school and a rigorous academic program that meets the individual needs of each student.  A full-time librarian oversees a large collection of books and an impressive number of volunteers read with students weekly.


Highland Park Elementary is an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB 

PYP) for students grades K-6. At the heart of IB PYP is a commitment to structured inquiry as a vehicle for learning. Six organizing themes help teachers and students explore knowledge in the broadest sense of the word.

Highwood Hills is a diverse neighborhood school located on Saint Paul’s East Side. Students are required to wear uniforms at this school. Highwood Hills features an extensive literacy center; a faculty trained through the University of Minnesota in the area of reading utilizing Reading Excellence and Reading First grants; and language academy classes for students that need additional language skills.

Known for academic excellence and personal development focused on individual students, Horace Mann School is a K-6 elementary school located in Saint Paul's Highland Park community.

J.J. Hill Montessori Magnet serves students through an individualized learning approach in a collaborative environment, in accordance with Maria Montessori's educational philosophy. Students develop creative, critical and higher order thinking skills, and problem-solving strategies. Students learn in non-competitive, multi-grade classrooms using precisely designed Montessori learning materials.

Jackson Magnet School prepares students to be critical, creative, constructive and compassionate thinkers. Students from any home in Saint Paul can attend Jackson. The school’s core belief is that children come first.

Located on the city's Eastside, John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary is part of the Achievement Plus partnership. This partnership focuses on raising student achievement by providing students and families with a standards based academic program, extended day instruction and community services in one convenient location.

One of the most precious and useful gifts parents can give to their child is a second  language. L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion School, Saint Paul Public School’s first and only French immersion school, helps kindergarten through sixth-grade students learn both English and French in a warm and welcoming environment.

The program at Linwood is based on the A+ Model, which features daily arts instruction in music, visual art, drama and dance. Linwood/Monroe is a two campus K-8 Magnet school program with grades K-3 at the Linwood Campus and grades 4-8 at the Monroe Campus.

Longfellow is a quality school, with a well-established history of providing a world-class education through the study of humanities. Longfellow teachers use a humanities-based framework that incorporates world cultures and the American experience.

Maxfield Magnet School is a vibrant learning environment that offers a world of opportunities academically and socially. Located in the Midway/Frogtown area, Maxfield Magnet School offers a unique educational experience that combines best practices in academics with a focus on the urban learner.

Mississippi Creative Arts Magnet is one of the first and finest creative arts elementary schools in Saint Paul. The school is known for its emphasis on the arts combined with a strong academic core.

Museum Magnet School, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, provides an exciting environment for student learning. The museum model approach to learning provides opportunities for students to participate in hands-on, interactive activities that involve exploring, experimenting, explaining and exhibiting their projects.

Students at Nokomis Montessori Magnet, serving the East Side of Saint Paul, learn in multi-age classrooms. The school emphasizes the Montessori method and blends in components of Reader’s Workshop and Writer’s Workshop. Students learn in a non-competitive environment and use special Montessori materials that help them understand concepts and skills.

North End Elementary is a Pre-K-6th grade program that emphasizes mentoring urban learners to become our future leaders.  As of the 2008-2009 school year, North End implemented boys and girls university academies that are gender-specific for Grades K-3; Grades 4-6 will be integrated with one grade added each year starting in 2009-2010 until all classes are gender specific by 2011-12.

Open School's progressive programs are rooted in  the tenets of open and constructivist education and self-directed learning. The district's only K-12 school, Open's academic program is designed for self-motivated and independent learners who want a family-like environment.

Phalen Lake Hmong Studies is an official Core Knowledge school committed to serving a diverse student population. Building on the success of our nationally recognized Hmong Culture and Language Enrichment Program, Phalen Lake is the first Hmong Studies Magnet School in the Saint Paul Public Schools district.

Prosperity Heights School is a small, close-knit, culturally diverse neighborhood school that ensures personal attention for every student. We provide children with a top quality, individualized education in a safe and respectful environment. Most apparent at Prosperity is the focus on maximizing each child's abilities with an array of choices for all types of learners.

Since 1916, Randolph Heights has established itself as a small, neighborhood school committed to educating a diverse student population. Randolph is an official Core Knowledge school with a long tradition of academic excellence and high expectations for student achievement. Strong parent and community involvement begins early with parents of the youngest learners in our pre-kindergarten and continues well after their children have finished sixth grade.

All educational activities at Riverview West Side School of Excellence are designed for K-6 students around a standards-based curriculum in reading writing and math that provides an integrated approach to education to balance students' learning experiences with their stage of development. The Dual Immersion, currently a K-4 program, will eventually expand to K-6 by adding one grade per year.

Roosevelt Elementary Magnet, a K-6 school, concentrates on the core instructional areas of reading, writing, mathematics and science. Roosevelt provides a quality, caring environment for its entire student population using the Responsive Classroom™ model. Roosevelt’s mission is that all students will read at or above grade level by the end of third grade.

Sheridan is a neighborhood school located on the East Side of Saint Paul.  The school’s mission focuses on self-respect and emphasizes high expectations and continuous improvement of academic achievement for each student. The dedicated and conscientious staff recognizes the richness within the student diversity and strongly believes that all students have different learning styles and strengths to be developed.

St. Anthony Park Elementary is a neighborhood school located just west of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. MCA test scores are above the state average. Our enrichment model reaches the entire student body with state-of-the-art computer technology to reinforce core curriculum. We provide specialists in technology, art, physical education, vocal music, and inquiry science.

Webster Magnet Elementary is a school on the move, looking at changing our magnet focus to "Academic Service Learning" as we strive to build a community of learners and strong community connections. Webster has chosen to be a service-learning magnet school because service-learning connects what students learn academically with their very important place in the wider world.

Located in the heart of Saint Paul on the downtown waterfront, Wellstone Elementary teaches students to exercise critical thinking skills and to facilitate student-led discussions around content themes and social issues. At Wellstone Elementary, families have the option of choosing between Spanish Dual Immersion programming for their child or a traditional setting with instruction provided entirely in English.

The Mission of World Cultures is to prepare children to be confident and productive global citizens. The academic program emphasizes understanding of the world through the integration of culture study and curriculum.
