Alternative programs are available for students who need or desire a learning environment that is different from a traditional school. Area Learning Center (ALC) programs offer flexible hours, various locations and alternative teaching methods that help students make progress toward graduation. Students may enroll as full-time ALC high school students and earn a diploma or they may take after hours courses to earn additional credits needed to graduate at their current high school. AGAPE - Adolescent Girls and Parenting Education
AGAPE is a supportive secondary small learning community for young women who are pregnant and/or parents. AGAPE assists students to attain their high-school diploma while developing increased self-sufficiency and parenting skills. AGAPE provides on-site child care for babies six weeks to 33 months, formal classes and
opportunities for independent study. The school’s goals include academic continuity, successful completion of required coursework, increased parenting skills, development of interpersonal/ communication skills, passing the basic standards tests, obtaining/using computer literacy skills, and developing post-secondary educational goals.

Creative Arts High School
Serves students who have a passion for the arts. to be admitted, students must demonstrate their ability in one or more of the arts by performance or with a portfolio. this site offers an accredited academic curriculum and includes classes in ceramics, painting, sculpture, graphic arts, photography, music, theater, and creative writing. Class sizes are usually small. Offers a full high school curriculum including Advanced Placement classes, a four year Spanish program, and all the classes required for admittance to any university or post-secondary school. Students with a strong interest in one or more of the arts who have completed eighth grade and have met all junior high school credit requirements are eligible to attend Creative Arts High School.

Gordon Parks High School
Serves students ages 16-20 who prefer small group instruction and a year-round setting. Students may attend full-time to earn their high school diploma, or part-time to make up credits from a traditional high school. International Academy - LEAP
International Academy-LEAP (IA-LEAP) is designed for English Language Learners ages 14-21 that are new to the country. IA-LEAP offers intensive English and content area classes with personalized instruction in a challenging academic setting for English language learners earning their high school diploma. IA-LEAP offers flexible scheduling to meet the needs of students who have work and/or family commitments and assists students with the transition from high school to employment or higher education.
